At Live With Hope, I provide personalised nutrition and lifestyle guidance to support overall health and wellbeing for adults at all stages of life.
My work is based on a holistic, evidence-informed approach, recognising that nutrition, lifestyle, stress, and daily habits all play a role in how we feel. Support is always tailored to the individual, taking into account your unique health history, goals, time restraints and dietary preferences.
Sessions are offered online and in person, and are designed to work alongside conventional medical care.
This option is ideal for individuals who are generally well but feel they could benefit from a consultation to motivate changes in diet or lifestyle, and want new ideas and inspiration.
I will review a 7-day diet diary you complete beforehand with you and carry out a review of your medical history, any ongoing symptoms and health goals you want to achieve.
Together, we will explore underlying imbalances and create a plan that feels realistic, supportive, and sustainable.

An Annual Health MOT is a comprehensive, proactive review of your health using functional testing, designed to help you understand how your body is functioning and where it may need additional support.
This appointment combines an in-depth nutrition and lifestyle assessment with functional testing to measure a broad range of biochemical markers to help understand your body’s metabolic and nutrient needs. These tests can offer deeper insight into areas such as hormone balance, stress response, digestive health, nutrient status, and metabolic function.
Functional testing is never used in isolation and does not diagnose disease. Instead, results are interpreted alongside your symptoms, health history, and lifestyle factors to build a clear, personalised picture of your health.
Your Health MOT will include:
A detailed review of your health history, symptoms, and goals
Functional testing for comprehensive insights to your body’s functioning
Interpretation of results in a nutritional and lifestyle context
Personalised nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations
A clear plan to support your health over the year ahead
Exploring functional testing*
This service is ideal if you want to be proactive, feel “not quite yourself”, experience ongoing or unexplained symptoms, or want clarity and direction for your long-term health.
*I may suggest you speak to your GP for certain tests, while I also use functional tests to identify potential hormonal or nutritional imbalances addressable via dietary and lifestyle changes.
We will review any test results together. Functional testing is subject to additional costs.

I’m Jo Douglas, a Nutritional Therapist, a CNM graduate, and member of the ANP, based in Balerno, just outside of Edinburgh.
I have a genuine passion for supporting others and find it incredibly rewarding to see my clients make positive changes to their health, grow in confidence and move forward on their health journeys.
